Emotions were heavy as players and officials of PAC Academy visited the family of their late General Manager, Stephen Appiah, to offer comfort and support.
The visit came in the wake of Appiah’s sudden passing on Wednesday night, August 27, 2025, at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi after a brief illness.

The news sent shockwaves across the Ghanaian football fraternity, especially within the Ashanti Region, where Appiah was widely admired.
Many have described his death as an irreplaceable loss to PAC Academy, a club that has quickly carved a name for itself in the Division One League.
Stephen was celebrated for his hard work, foresight and dedication.

Under his stewardship, PAC Academy built a strong reputation for nurturing young players and positioning itself as a competitive force in Ghana’s second-tier league, as noted by Ghanasoccernet.
His commitment to youth development turned the Offinso-based side into a hub for emerging talents, and he was even a member of the Local Organising Committee for the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship held in Accra, per Ghanafa.org.
PAC Academy mourns the death of Stephen Appiah
In a touching message on Instagram, the club paid tribute to their departed leader:
"We're deeply heartbroken by the passing of our General Manager, Mr Stephen Appiah. He was more than a leader. His warmth, kindness, wisdom and unwavering support inspired us all.
"Our thoughts, prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to the family, our team and loved ones during these difficult times.
"We'll miss you dearly Mr Appiah. You will always remain in our hearts. Rest peacefully."
The Division One League side did not limit its tribute to words online.
In photos shared on the club’s official Instagram account, players and staff were seen dressed in black and red as they gathered to mourn alongside the family.
Messages of sympathy have continued to flood in since news of his passing, with many pointing to his invaluable role in shaping the future of Ghanaian football through grassroots development.
His sudden departure leaves PAC Academy without its top administrator at a critical stage in its journey.
The club now faces the challenge of coping with this loss while also managing the vacuum created by the extradition of its owner, Inusah Ahmed, popularly known as Chairman Pascal.
