The three-time Grammy award-winning Canadian hip-hop star has really changed the view of the art that many claim died. Drake’s ‘VIEWS’ was the most downloaded album on iTunes. It also holds the record for holding the number one spot for over a month.
Drake’s album shows his epic journey through the hip-hop culture. It has been one long roller-coaster ride. He owes his success to his fellow friend Lil Wayne for discovering him at a time no one knew the Canadian star. He has transitioned over the year into a force to reckon with in the music industry.
Comeback Season (2007)
After the success of his previous mix-tape dubbed ‘Room for Improvement,’ it was high time for Drake’s 1st album. The album was produced by top producers in the hip-hop music scene. From the likes of Kanye West, Rich the Kidd, T-Minus and DJ Revolution.
It also featured Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, Rich Boy, Andreena Mill and Phonte. It was his introduction to the world as Drake. He was still new to the game but the album made his name known among the hip-hop circles. This was also after the success of two of his tunes ‘Over’ and ‘Find your Love.’
So Far So Gone (2009)
After the success of Comeback Season, Drake had established his name in the game. Comeback Season was his way of showing us that he is here and he has it. After mastering his craft, he dropped this one under the Young Money label.
Drake’s new album featured Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, Lloyd, Bun B, and Omarion. His single ‘Best I Ever Had ‘received massive airplay. It also got people talking about the new style of hip-hop he brought to the game. He sings a bit in some of the songs in the album, but he also delivers some bars to all his doubters.
Thank Me Later (2010)
Many people claim that this masterpiece catapulted Drake to the success that he is today. The producers on the album did a very decent work. It included industry heavyweights Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, Al Khaaliq and Omen to name a few. He featured some of the legends in different genres. He also featured his fellow upcoming threat to the game Nicki Minaj.
Jay Z, Alicia Keys, The Dream, T.I, Swizz Beats, Young Jeezy and obviously Lil Wayne featured in the masterpiece. The album showed a master of the craft. His singing ability and rapping prowess are mastered to bring out a unique voice. It sold over 1,800,000 copies.
Take Care (2011)
Taunted to be one of his best works ever. He was still under the Young Money record label. The album featured some of the best producers like Lil Wayne, Doc McKinney, Drew Murray and Boi-1 da. He also featured Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and The Weekend. It sold over 2 million copies in the U.S.
The album spent close to three years on the Billboard 200. Songs like ‘Headlines’ and Marvin’s Room’ really helped the album increase its sales. It also marked his position in the hip-hop industry. He became a household from then and has stayed one till now.

Nothing Was the Same (2013)
It was around this time that he formed OVO Sound. The producers featured included Majid Jorda, Hudson Mohawke, Jake One and Ronald Williams amongst many. It featured Jhene Aiko, Jay Z, and Detail.
The most successful song from the album was definitely ‘Started from the Bottom.’ The song lasted close to two years on the Billboard 200. It was a rap masterpiece that really changed the game.

Under the Cash money label, it featured producers like Partynextdoor, Travis Scott, and Frank Dukes. The album really did well in terms of album sales. It exposed the real Drake to the world. It sold over 3 million copies in the U.S.
Views (2016)
After setting the bar really high, many doubted whether the expectations would be met. But the album did meet the expectations. With ‘One dance’ staying at the top of the Billboard 100 for over three weeks. He also won three Grammy awards from the album. The album also won Album of the Year in many wards.
More Life (2017)
Drake's latest album features Sampha, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Giggs, Jorja Smith and Young Thug. Drake album track list had 22 songs, It happens to be one of his longest also. It has a diverse sound capturing different genres of music. It is the most streamed album on most platforms with over 5 million copies sold.
