Parliament 'forgets' to punish Kennedy Agyapong after his strong words

- Parliament has recessed without Kennedy Agyapong facing sanctions for calling the House "cheap"

- Kennedy Agyapong remains one of the most controversial politicians in Ghana

- It remains unsure the reasons for Parliament not suspending Kennedy Agyapong

Contrary to expectations from Parliament to suspend or sanction Kennedy Agyapong for gross contempt towards the House, the majority leader has revealed no such action shall be taken.

YEN.com.gh had earlier reported on how Kennedy Agyapong had apologized to the privileges committee saying he did not mean to say parliament is cheap.

“The committee noted the apology rendered by the MP and therefore did not consider expulsion as a sanction to be imposed. The committee was however in favour of either a reprimand or a suspension,” the first deputy speaker of parliament, Joseph Osei-Owusu, stated.

Meanwhile, Parliament has risen and yet Kennedy walks without sanctions. So far, the reason(s) for Kennedy Agyapong being left without any sanction remains unknown as suspicions have it that the maverick politician may have been forgiven by parliament.

Kennedy Agyapong's apology puts to rest various suspicions that he is an untouchable personality in parliament.

In fact, sources close to YEN.com.gh show that his refusal to have admitted and apologized for his wrongs could have resulted in him being stripped of his position as a member of parliament or better yet suspended from making contributions on the floor of parliament based on the disciplinary Act of parliament.

Kennedy Agyapong had earlier alleged that some forces within his party (NPP) were conspiring to 'shut him down' due to his harsh and tough statements against his party.

Mr. Agyapong argued that he had vital information on how his party - the NPP - used 'spiritual' means to win the 2016 elections.

By far, his stern words and stiff opposition to corruption makes Kennedy Agyapong, by far, one of the most controversial politicians in the country and also a forceful politician.
