- Ataa was reportedly crossing the road after she had gone to buy some food but was knocked down by the car and died instantly

- For some time now, resident of Madina-Adenta have been left with no option than to cross the highway on foot following the collapse of their foot bridge

- Government has thus announced that work on the bridge will resume "immediately".

Friday, November 2, 2018, will go down as one of the sad days in the life of residents of Madina-Adenta, as one of their own was killed in a gory car crash.

The deceased, whose name YEN.com.gh has gathered as Ataa, was reportedly crossing the road to buy some food for herself.

She managed to cross the road for the food successfully, however, on her return, she met her timely death when a car run straight into her killer her instantly.

Ataa's dressing and pose proves that she was full of life and was not expecting such a sad incident to happen to her anytime soon.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported another person being knocked down by a car on that same Madina-Adenta Highway.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was a student of the West Africa Senior High School (WASS).

This led to unrest among the resident, who went on rampage, blocking the highway from traffic flow, all in a violent protest.

The situation was harsh that the police and Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) rushed to the scene to keep the fire that had been set by the protesters under control, and to restore calm to the area.

The residents have for long cried out to the government to repair their broken foot bridge which was spelling doom for their lives.

In many reports monitored by YEN.com.gh on GHone TV on different occasions, the residents complained of neglect by the government to repair the bridge, which was claiming lives because they had no option that to cross the busy highway on foot.

In a related development, the government, after Thursday's crash and protest by the residents, has said work will resume immediately on the highway to avoid future calamities.

Meanwhile, a one-week celebration is being held for Ataa on the night of Friday, November 9, 2018.
