Lady becomes first black woman to bag PhD in Physics from University of Glasgow

- The lady disclosed that she has become the first black woman to bag a PhD in physics from the University of Glasgow

- Well-wishers were quick to congratulate her on the outstanding feat

A social media user identified as Monifa Phillips, recently took to the micro blogging platform, Twitter, to share the news of the astounding feat she achieved in her academic career.

In a photo post shared on the platform, Philips disclosed that she has just become the first black woman to graduate from the University of Glasglow with a PhD in Physics.

"This week I was the very first black woman to graduate from the Uni of Glasgow with a PhD in Physics." she said.

Phillips went on to add that she is proud of her achievement as she deliberately made an effort to make room for herself in a field heavily dominated by white males.

She said it was not an easy feat, but it was achievable with the support of family and friends.

"I'm a proud Black British woman from LDN. I made space for myself in a predominantly white, male field. It was hard, but with the support of my family & my community, I did it." Philips tweeted.
