NPP is laying foundation for a successful Ghana - Akufo-Addo

- Akufo-Addo says his government is determined to put Ghana back on track as an economic super-power in Africa

- According to the NPP leader, he is laying the foundation for future successes

- Nana Addo is on a six-day tour of the Northern and Upper Regions of Ghana

President Akufo-Addo has assured Ghanaians that his government is laying the foundation for future success on multiple fronts.

He said the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is aiming to manage the economy in a much more sustainable manner.

The President was speaking at the Bolgatanga Senior High School in the Upper East Region as part of his working visit to the region.

He said, unlike the Mahama administration, the NPP government wants to change the structure of the country’s economy in order to position the country for future development.

We are laying the social infrastructure and we are managing the economy in such a way that we can get sustained growth and development in the country,” he said.

The President further touted the creation of the six new regions as a catalyst for development.

The new regions – Savannah, North East, Bono East, Ahafo, Western North and Oti regions – were created following a referendum in December 2018.

Nana Addo believes the new regions will enable the government get closer to the people, which would in turn foster development.

We have enhanced the governance structures of our country. The new regions that have been created are going to enable governments to get closer to the people.

“So at all fronts, we are laying the foundation for the future growth and development of our nation,” the President added.

The President is currently on a six-day tour of the Northern and Upper Regions, where he is expected to commission completed projects and also cut the sod for new ones.
