A lecturer at the University for Development Studies (UDS) by name Dr Michael Ayamga Adongo has spoken strongly against Nana Akufo-Addo's flagship policy called the Free SHS.

Pulse.com.gh reports that the lecturer made strong assertions against the policy and gave reason upon reason why it is rather destroying the future of Ghanaian children.

The lecturer made reference to the recent developments when teachers went on strike while one of the tracks of free SHS students returned to school.

According to Dr Adongo, the free SHS system makes learning highly ineffective as resourceful times that the students are supposed to spend in school are rather spent at home.

He said:

“Gold SHS students went back to school almost in the third week of November. We all know about our education system. The first week, no serious class if any. Out of the remaining 3 weeks, teachers went on strike for a week.

The lecturer continued by saying:

"In the third week of December, they were on vacation. So, effectively, you sent your wards to school for 2 weeks to learn without textbooks and they are back home till march."

It appears that the lecturer had much discontentment with the policy. He added vehemently that the policy is a systematic destruction of the school children.

“You can go on shouting free SHS. Those who claim god-status for this systematic destruction of our kids have theirs in expensive dollar-denominated schools"

In other news, the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo proved he was the king of fashion in Ghana in 2019 by wearing amazing outfits to different occasions both home and abroad.

Earlier during the reign of Akufo-Addo, there used to be criticisms of his choice of clothes but those negative comments have not found any grounds in recent times.

From January to December 2019, many have been left in awe of the powerful looks of the first gentleman of the land.
