A 45-year-old woman identified as Mary Quansah who has been badly affected by a severe case of fibroid has had a large pregnant-looking belly for five years and is now in urgent need of GHC 12k for surgery to save her life.

According to a short documentary that was done to solicit funds for the 45-year-old woman, Mary's fibroid has covered her entire belly from the pelvic region to the chest area.

A nurse who identified herself as Lucy narrated the predicament and the extreme nature of the fibroid saying: "When I saw her I thought she was pregnant with triplet only to find out that it is fibroid that has filled up her belly in this manner. Right from her pelvic side up to her thoracic level."

The nurse further indicates that she had not seen such an extreme case before and noted that Mary's kidneys and gall bladder have all been badly affected.

"Throughout my 6 years' experience, I've seen nothing like this. The condition has affected both kidneys and damaged them, gall bladder has stones and only the liver is okay. She really needs help and funds," the nurse said.

Some family sources are reported as saying Mary has been battling the protruding stomach condition for over five years with no help in sight because she is poor and can’t afford the almost GH¢12,000.00 bill needed to save her life.

In other news, it has almost become a norm for many young girls seeking stardom and many female celebrities out there to post raunchy pictures of themselves in order to gain traction on social media.

In most cases, it is thought that gaining online traction eventually translates to money as the exposure gained attracts contracts, deals and individuals who may be interested in their affairs.

While that is the case for many, there are also a good number of female Ghanaian celebrities who refrain from the 'strategy' being used by many ladies but still remain attractive and gain massive following online.
