Over the decades, women have shattered glass ceilings in various fields in spite of the challenges and Elaine Amankwah Nietmann, is on a path to become one of the few women blazing trails in the US House of Representatives.

The Ghanaian-US Lawyer is working towards breaking grounds in the United States’ House of Representatives.

Elaine Amankwah Nietmann is hopeful that she will ink her name in the pages of history through a representation of the 4th Congressional District of George in the US House of Representatives.

She moved to the US at a very young age and immediately fell in love with the land of the free and home of the brave.

Her family had a great start to life in the U.S. when they were blessed with subsidized housing in what was considered a ''good'' school district.

Not long after she graduated with a degree in political science and economics, Elaine tied the knot with her bestie, Keenan Nietmann.

In 2011, Elaine and her family moved from Maryland to Georgia while in her last year in Law School.

She settled in Georgia as a wife, mother and lawyer and when her second son was diagnosed with autism, she witnessed at first-hand, the inadequacies of the healthcare system and special education federal programmes in dealing with his needs.

Through advocacy for the needs of her son, Elaine gained experience while working as a public defender, guardian ad litem and family law attorney in Georgia’s Congressional District 4.

These experiences influenced her paradigm and decision to run for public office to become a congresswoman.

Elaine is also a devout Christian and she credits her faith to her ability to deal and successfully balance the duties of her profession and family of six together with advocating for her son’s special needs.

Her motto reads: ''Better Representation of Our Community Today'' and she believes there’s more to be done in the four counties of Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District.

Elaine aims at engineering positive change in areas of Georgia especially in education, healthcare, economy, veteran affairs and immigration.

With the Democratic Party primaries of her district scheduled for May 19, 2020, it is highly expected that Elaine Amankwah Nietmann whose campaign is receiving growing support from the African-American community of 4th Congressional District of Georgia will win the primaries.

Many also anticipate she will go on to win the general election scheduled for November 3, 2020, to represent her district in the United States House of Congress.
