Muslim couple hold wedding ceremony on virtual app Zoom and it was incredible
- Unsha Bakker, a registered nurse and her husband Farzan had to cancel their wedding thanks to COVID-19
- They had already paid deposits for the venue, cake, food, dress and their guests purchased air tickets
- Since they were Muslim, postponing the ceremony meant holding off cohabiting as it is not allowed to happen before marriage
- Unsha came up with the smart idea to say their vows on Zoom so they could start their lives together without feeling guilty

As cases of new COVID-19 infections keep rising, couples hoping to tie the knot have had to come up with clever ways to say I Do.
Unsha Bakker and Farzan, a happy Muslim couple, were caught in a quagmire when social distancing was imposed and people were asked to stay away from mass gatherings.

Speaking to Huffpost, Unsha admitted she and her hubby could not spend their new lives together before walking down the aisle thanks to Muslim customs.
They were required to be tied before the eyes of God so their marriage and union could be blessed.

At first, considering the money they had poured into booking a venue, securing food and seats for guests was a headache but they learnt to make peace with it.
Yet, she knew postponing the wedding would translate to not living with the man she loved so deeply.
“Since my husband and I come from fairly traditional Muslim families, postponing our wedding meant postponing the start of our lives together,” she said.

The registered nurse said people had already booked flights and were ready to travel during summer to attend the wedding of the decade.
But sadly, COVID-19 happened and everything nearly went to the dumps.
On March 10, 2020, the couple decided to call off the wedding sighting unavoidable circumstances.

One day, the medic asked her husband to be whether they could just hold their marriage via Zoom and avoid jumping through hoops in an attempt to be together.
“Imagining the possibility that our wedding would be reduced to Zoom, I broke down into tears. I began to have vivid visions of what I would be missing out on by not proceeding with the ceremony we planned for the summer,” she said.
Farzan agreed and the two connected their friends and family then threw a simple yet memorable ceremony.
