First sad videos drop as massive crowd throngs NDC vigil to mourn Rawlings

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is currently holding a vigil in honour of former President Jerry John John Rawlings.
Rawlings, Ghana's longest-serving head of state ever and the founder of the NDC, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020.
He passed on at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital where he had been receiving treatment after a short illness.
To honour their founder, the NDC has planned a number of activities key among which is the vigil which is underway at the old Obra Spot area at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.
A video from the vigil has popped up showing loads of NDC supporters and other Ghanaians who admired Rawlings throng the venue.
With many of the mourners clad in red and black outfits and NDC apparel, it has been an atmosphere of sombreness.
The crowd are been cheered by groups of Ewe music troupes.
Apart from the thick crowd of mourners, many leading members of the NDC have been spotted at the vigil which is moderated by Elvis Afriyie Ankrah.
The NDC's flagbearer, former President John Mahama, and his running, mate Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang are expected to speak at the vigil alongside other leading members of the party.
Already, Mahama has arrived with his wife, Lordina, and Prof Opoku Agyemang. Their arrival got the crowd charged.
Meanwhile, the family of Jerry John Rawlings has released new details and directives on his funeral. The new details include the family's decision not to hold a one-week observance.
In a statement on Saturday, November 14, 2020, the family also directed visitors to call for prior appointments before coming over
The statement also debunked reports that Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings was sick.
