Mother slashes son's ear over GH₵ 1.20

A 34-year-old woman, Efia Grace has allegedly cut the ear of her 12-year old son as punishment for stealing her GH₵ 1.20.

According to reports, the victim whose name was given as Kwadwo Badu was accused by the mother of stealing the money, an accusation he denied. The accused, Afuah Grace then battered the victim until he fell unconscious with blood oozing from his ear. The victim was rushed to the Suntreso Government Hospital.

All efforts to trace the whereabouts of the woman has proven futile as she is reported to be on the run. Meanwhile police have mounted a search party for her as they begin with investigations.
