The funeral will no longer be on September 6, as confirmed by Dada KD's family in a recent press briefing.

The highlife singer's state-assisted funeral was scheduled to happen at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra, after which his mortal remains would be taken to his hometown, Agona Asamang, in the Ashanti Region.

While the venue remains the same, the family of Dada KD has postponed the highlife singer's funeral date to September 20, 2025.

"We regret to inform you that Dada KD's funeral has been postponed again. This is not intentional, but in accordance with the ban on funerals in the Ashanti Region following Asantehemaa Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III's passing," a spokesperson explained on behalf of Dada KD's family.
"There was nothing we could do. When the King makes a decree, we can't change it," the spokesperson added.

The family thanked Ghanaians across the world for the continued support since Dada KD's sudden passing.

This is the second time that the funeral date for Dada KD has been changed. It was originally scheduled for August 16th.

The family changed it the first time from August 16 to September 6, due to the national mourning period declared after the August 6 military helicopter crash in the Adansi District, which claimed eight lives, including senior government officials and military personnel.

During the press briefing, the late Fatia Fata Nkrumah's son spoke, confirming the new date on September 20. He also called on Ghanaians for more support ahead of the new funeral date.
