Popular broadcaster Serwaa Amihere has thrilled fans with her performance of a renowned gospel song at Obuobia Darko-Opoku's 49th birthday celebration.

A Ghanaian politician, journalist, and philanthropist, Obuobia Darko-Opoku currently serves as Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, popularly known as Mahama Cares.

She previously hosted TV Africa's "Breakfast Live" and served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, before going on to contest the Weija-Gbawe parliamentary seat twice on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.

As part of her 49th birthday celebration, she invited a host of dignitaries, including Serwaa Amihere.

Serwaa Amihere thrills fans with gospel song

During the event, Serwaa Amihere was seen on stage as she began to sing, catching those present off guard. Before launching into her performance, she jokingly addressed the crowd, saying:

"Heavenly father, please forgive them. Forgive their souls and their hearts. Please close your eyes for me."

She then proceeded to perform "Gyata Bruwa," a song she indicated was the birthday celebrant's favourite.

Serwaa Amihere moves first application
