Ghanaian entertainers Funny Face and Kwaku Manu have intensified the rivalry surrounding their much-anticipated boxing match.

The two actors appeared on GHOne TV’s EIB Sports show to promote their bout and discuss their preparations. However, what began as a conversation about the match quickly developed into a heated argument.

Kwaku Manu threw glove to Funny Face

During the discussion, both men confidently argued that they would emerge victorious in the ring. Neither Funny Face nor Kwaku Manu appeared willing to accept that the other had a better chance of winning.

As the verbal exchanges continued, Kwaku Manu picked up a boxing glove and threw it towards Funny Face. The glove struck the comedian, who did not appear pleased with the action.

Funny Face immediately picked up the glove and threw it back at Kwaku Manu with greater force. His reaction suggested that he had taken his opponent’s initial action seriously.

The presenters attempted to manage the situation as the two entertainers continued exchanging words. Although the confrontation may have formed part of the publicity surrounding the match, Funny Face’s reaction appeared more serious than playful.

Funny Face faced Kwaku Manu

Funny Face and Kwaku Manu are scheduled to face each other at the Homowo Fightfest on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

The event will take place at the Abɛlɛmpke School Park in Accra at 4 pm. It will feature professional, amateur, exhibition and para-boxing contests, alongside traditional and cultural displays.

Their match has attracted attention because of the close friendship between them. Kwaku Manu supported Funny Face through some of his most difficult personal moments, with the comedian publicly describing him as a true brother.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that the trailer for Funny Face and Kwaku Manu's movie was released on social media.

The movie, titled The Bold Side Dude, also starred other high-profile actors from the Kumawood industry.

Per the trailer, Funny Face played the role of a man whose wife cheated on him with Kwaku Manu.
