2 Dead, 7 Injured in Toyota Voxy Crash at Abor Junction on Mankessim–Accra Highway

Two people have been killed and seven others injured following a road crash at Abor Junction on the Mankessim–Accra Highway in the early hours of Thursday, August 6, 2026.

A Toyota Voxy was involved in the incident, which occurred shortly after midnight.

Adom News reported that the driver of the vehicle reportedly walked away from the scene without injury.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received a distress call at its Mankessim Fire Station at approximately 1:44 am.

A rescue team was promptly mobilised and, working alongside the National Ambulance Service, arrived at the crash site at around 2:01 am.

Upon arrival, responders found nine victims at the scene. Among them, two females and five males had sustained injuries of varying severity. A male and a female were confirmed dead at the location.

First responders administered on-site assistance to the survivors before transporting them to receive further medical care.

Three of the injured were taken to Mercy Women Catholic Hospital in Mankessim. The bodies of the two deceased victims were conveyed to Saltpond Government Hospital.

Authorities have not yet established what triggered the collision, and investigations are ongoing.

Following the rescue operation, the team cleared debris from the scene to reduce the risk of secondary incidents along that stretch of road.
