Stephen King Amoah: Late Immigration Officer’s Mother Weeps at His Funeral

The funeral and burial service for the late immigration officer Stephen King Amoah was held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) church at Old Tafo in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
In attendance at the funeral were friends and family of the late Immigration Officer, who came to pay their last respects and bid him farewell.

In a video on X, late Stephen King Amoah’s mother was inconsolable as she wept over the tragic passing of her son at the ceremonial grounds.
Even though people who attended the funeral wore red and black clothes to signify that they were mourning, the mother of the deceased wore a black and white attire.
She sat in front and was crying. She kept mentioning the name of the suspected killer and saying he had worried her.
“Benson you have worried me,” she said.
Those sitting by her were also crying, but often consoled her. Some funeral attendants who had possibly just arrived walked to greet the family of the deceased.

Stephen King Amoah's murder
The late Immigration Officer was reported missing for days after he left his house on July 3, 2025, to reclaim GH¢200,000 from his friend, Bright Aweh.
He was to meet his friend at Aggie’s Spot in Ashongman Estate to take the money he had given to him to secure employment for some individuals following the NDC's election victory.
After several days of searching for his whereabouts, the Ghana Police Service discovered Stephen King Amoah's charred remains in a gutter near GBC Satellite, opposite Comet Estate at Abuom Junction, near Kwabenya, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

The Ghana Police Service later arrested Bright Aweh, the friend he had left home to meet before going missing, as the main suspect in the crime.

Later, in a press conference, COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department, shared that they had discovered the alleged murder weapon used by Bright Aweh to commit the crime.
A second suspect, Thomas Zigah, aka Nii Jaase, was also arrested in connection with the alleged murder of Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah.
The two suspects appeared before a judge in court for their alleged involvement in the murder of the Immigration officer. An alleged third suspect in Stephen King Amoah's murder case has also reportedly passed away from health issues.

Stephen's wife cries at his funeral

In a video, his wife could not sit as she remained inconsolable. Some people sitting by her kept holding and comforting her.
