Reverend Michael Kofi Appiah, a popular Ghanaian man of God, has reportedly passed away following a visit to a guest house in Takoradi in the Western Region.

According to several media reports, the founder and leader of the Light of Faith Ministry checked into a guest house late in the evening with a woman believed to be a married member of his church and a university student in Takoradi.

What happened to Reverend Michael Kofi Appiah?

The exact circumstances leading to the sudden demise of Reverend Michael Kofi Appiah remain unknown.

According to some sources, the late preacher and his married female companion, identified as Mrs Mensah, arrived at the facility around 10:00 PM, where they reportedly ordered food and drinks before retiring to their room for the night.

However, several hours later, the guest house staff became concerned after hearing the pastor's female partner calling for help.

Reverend Appiah was eventually found unresponsive in the room, prompting immediate attention and the involvement of authorities. The preacher was later confirmed dead.

Staff members said:

"At first, we thought they were just talking, you know? It’s not unusual for pastors to counsel people privately. But things seemed different with them. They were laughing a lot and seemed quite close."
"We went in and saw him lying on the bed, eyes closed, no movement. Mrs. Mensah was crying, saying, Please, help him, he isn’t breathing!’ We tried to get him up, but he was cold."

Reports indicated that personnel from the Ghana Police Service arrived at the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation.

The remains of the late Reverend Appiah have also been deposited at the morgue, with an autopsy set to be carried out to determine the cause of his sudden demise.

The police also confirmed that the deceased Ghanaian pastor's female companion was questioned and later released after providing a statement.

The tragic news has evoked sadness among many members of his congregation, with some expressing disbelief after hearing that he was found dead in a guest room.
