A 22-year-old Ugandan TikTok content creator has been found dead inside her rented room in Bukoto, Kampala, with police now searching for her missing roommate in connection with the incident.

Jovia Namuwulya, who built an online following under the handle Jovia1235, was found lifeless on August 20, 2026, after her relatives grew alarmed when she stopped answering their calls.

How Namuwulya’s remains were discovered

Unable to reach her by phone, Namuwulya's family contacted the building's caretaker.

The caretaker and Namuwulya's sister went to check on her and found the room locked from inside. Peering through the window, they noticed blood stains, and upon forcing their way in, they found her body inside the room.

Kampala police spokesperson Racheal Kawala confirmed that Namuwulya was found lifeless in a pool of blood.

Her remains according to an August 24, 2026, report by Pulse Uganda were subsequently taken to the City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Kawala noted that Namuwulya had occupied the room for approximately seven months. Her roommate, Rose Turundamukama, had moved in roughly three months before the incident.

Police search for Rose Turundamukama

Investigators have been unable to locate Turundamukama since the discovery, and she has been named a person of interest in the case.

"Turundamukama Rose couldn't be found and is currently being sought in connection with the incident," Kawala said.

The case has attracted widespread attention on social media, with users circulating various unverified theories about what may have happened.

One claim suggests that a man identified only as Muhammad was somehow involved, with allegations that both women had connected with him through the dating app Tinder and that a dispute over money led to a fatal confrontation.

Police have not confirmed any of these claims, nor have they verified the identity of the individual described or separate reports suggesting that Turundamukama left Uganda shortly after Namuwulya's death.

Kawala appealed directly to the public for assistance, stating:

"Anyone with information that may lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect is urged to report to the nearest police station."

Pastor Adamson Aromaegbe confirmed dead

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Pastor Adamson Aromaegbe, founder and senior pastor of The Rock Word Church and Dominion International, passed away. He died on Friday, August 21, 2026, and the news was made public two days later through an official church statement.

The announcement, released on Sunday, August 23, 2026, was signed by Reverend Nnamdy Echezona on behalf of the church leadership.

It remembered Aromaegbe as a faithful servant whose influence as a visionary leader, teacher, mentor, and Kingdom builder reached members of the Rivers-based congregation and the broader Dominion International family.
