However, applicants must meet a defined set of criteria before they can be considered eligible for the visa.

Property or business investment is required

At the heart of the application is a financial commitment. Prospective visa holders must either invest in a Qatari business or purchase property within the country that meets the minimum value threshold set by the government.

This ensures that only those with a genuine economic stake in Qatar are granted long-term residency.

Applicants are expected to present a clean criminal record. Qatar requires that individuals seeking investor residency have no history of serious legal infractions, both in their home country and in Qatar itself.

This condition applies regardless of nationality.

Health requirements must be satisfied

Foreign investors are also required to undergo a medical examination and meet the health standards stipulated by Qatari authorities.

This is a standard requirement for most long-term residency applications in the Gulf region.

Beyond the initial investment, applicants must demonstrate that they have sufficient financial resources to sustain themselves and any dependants during their stay.

Evidence of financial stability, such as bank statements or proof of income, is typically required as part of the documentation process.

For Ghanaians exploring opportunities beyond West Africa, Qatar's investor residence visa represents a structured and legal route to living and doing business in one of the world's wealthiest nations.
