Stats Show Teams Most Affected by VAR Decisions Since Its Introduction, Wolves Leads

Clear goals were chalked off, contentious goals were allowed, and controversial decisions were taken with the help of VAR.

Teams most affected by VAR

According to an analysis by Dale Johnson, via Sky Sports, Wolves have lost a net total of 13 goals due to overturned decisions from VAR since 2019/20.

Wolves have been the subject of some controversial VAR decisions. In fact, they lost to Manchester City last week due to a contentious John Stones goal.

Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, and Sheffield United are the only clubs with a figure of 0.

Fulham and Brentford have benefited the most from the technology, with 11 and 10 net total goals gained.

Premier League clubs recently voted to keep using the VAR after Wolves requested to scrap it, per BBC.

YEN.com.gh earlier explained why John Stones's goal for Man City against Wolves was given by the VAR.

Referee Chris Kavanagh signalled that there had been an infringement on Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa as the corner came in.

Replays show that Bernardo Silva impeded his Portuguese compatriot in an offside position as the ball came in. Silva, however, left the scene before Stones headed the ball in.
