I was never signed by Wizkid - Efya explains Starboy deal
Contrary to what is known by the public, Ghanaian songstress, Efya, has not been signed onto the the record label of Nigeria star, Wizkid, she has revealed.

Efya and some other artistes including , R2bees, have for sometime now been known as 'artistes of Wizkid's Starboy label'.

This followed an announcement by the Nigerian singer a the 2016 Ghana Music Awards that he signed a deal with Efya, R2bees and fellow Nigerian, Mr Eazi for Starboy Worldwide.

But explaining what the said deal entails, Efya has pointed out that Starboy Worldwide was only a collaborative effort by like-minded artistes with the aim of projecting African music which is not owned by any of them.
According to her, it is more of an affiliation of the record labels of the four musicians and nothing more.

She herself, she disclosed, was still signed onto he one record label, One Nation Entertainment, which has other up and coming musicians and sound engineers.
When asked by her interviewer, Zionfelix, if her explanation meant Wizkid did not sign her onto his label, she replied yes “because it is an affiliation”.
