But the leadership of the opposition NDC in parliament are currently in a meeting to convince Mr Bedzrah to rescind his decision.

Although it is unclear why the Ho West MP is giving up his position, but there are suggestions that the Ghanaian lawmaker is unhappy with some internal struggles within his party.

The Citinewsroom report added that the NDC MP’s decision to leave or stay as a member of Ghan’s parliament will be known after the meeting with the leadership of the minority MPs.

The opposition NDC currently has 106 minority MPs in parliament, as against the governing NPP’s 169.

However, the Ho West constituency, which is a stronghold of the NDC, will easily fall back to the party in case of a bye-election, should Mr. Bedzrah proceed with his decision to resign.

Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, has been a Member of Parliament on the ticket of the NDC since 2008, but there are suggestions he’s likely to lose out on the seat to another NDC candidate at the next polls in 2020.

The MP, who is a surveyor by profession, has been serving as a Ranking Member for the Government Assurance Committee, and is also a Chairman of the Parliamentary Christian Fellowship.
