Actor John Dumelo is lacing his boots to take up a career as a full-time politician as he has revealed his intentions of becoming a Member of Parliament.
The actor is reportedly lacing his boots to capture one of the seats in the Volta Region where he comes from.
This was contained in a report YEN.com.gh sighted on GhanaCelebrities.com.
The report stated that John Dumelo, who was speaking to the news site on the current state of affairs in Ghana, pointed out that his main challenge is winning the parliamentary primaries of the NDC.
According to Dumelo, the primaries will be difficult to win will be very difficult because of the perception that he came to meet a queue.
On the challenge of funding for his campaign, the star actor explained that he will use proceeds from his farms and other businesses to prevent him from owing financiers who will push him to be corrupt.
Dumelo also disclosed his new found love for sports betting and the fact that he is making some good money from betting.
Born February 3, 1984, Dumelo is a Civil Engineering graduate from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He made his acting debut in the movie, 'Baby Thief', while still primary school pupil.
Dumelo has since featured in many movies including 'Letters to my Mother', 'Chelsea', 'Ties that Bind', 'Haunted House', 'One in a Million', 'End of Brides War', 'The Game', and '4Play', among many others.
During the 2016 election declared his political stance and openly campaigned for NDC's John Mahama against Nana Akufo-Addo.
His intention to contest the party's primaries is, therefore, not much of surprise.
