Information available suggests that a group of people calling for the removal of the Agona West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Marigold Assan organized a press conference.

It did not however go as planned as another group of people, known to be her supporters, stormed the venue and disrupted the event.

On Wednesday, August 8, 2018, the first group, which referred to itself as the Concerned NPP Members (CNM), decided to communicate their displeasure with regards to her style of leadership.

YEN.com.gh understands that they sought to use the opportunity to call for her removal from office.

This, they explained, is because the MCE has failed to live up to expectations, and has also brought divisions into the party in the area.

It didn’t take long for another group of men to show up, and this led to a hot exchange between the two parties.

The leader of the CNM, Benjamin Kedeke, claimed that the party is losing its vibrancy in the area because the MCE has neglected them, adding that her removal will bring them some relief and bring hope to the party again.

But before they could make their grievances known to the press, her loyalists stormed the venue to disrupt the meeting, resulting in a free-for-all fight.

It took the intervention of security personnel to restore calm to the venue for the event.
