Manifest and other Ghanaian celebrities who have politicians as fathers

Celebrities are often thought of as people who deserve all the good things they have gotten simply because they are self-made. We tend to associate excellence with our favourite famous people.

But the truth is, most of society's famous people have been pushed forward by a host of others. And in Ghana, the task of getting into the spotlight is a lot easier when people know where you are coming from.

YEN.com.gh compiles, in no particular order, the list of Ghana's most famous celebrities with politicians as fathers.

1. Anita Erskine

Anita Erskine's dad was a former politician and soldier in Ghana. The late General Emmanuel Erskine was a leading member of the now-defunct People's Heritage Party (PHP).

All the same, the younger Erskine has done well for herself. She is now a celebrated TV and radio presenter as well as public relations expert.

2.Manifest

Kwame Ametepe Tsikata is the real name of award-winning rapper Manifest. He is thought to be one of the best musicians currently in Africa.

Manifest's father is the famous Ghanaian politician and legal luminary Tsatsu Tsikata. The senior Tsikata is a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

3. Xandy Kamel

After rising to prominence via Kumawood movies, Xandy Kamel is now adding to controversies to build her brand. The actress has in recent times been involved in very explicit issues in entertainment media.

Xandy's father is the late Henry Ford Kamel, a former regional minister. He was a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

4. Jackie Ankrah

TV presenter and singer Jackie Ankrah is the daughter of former military head of state General Joseph Ankrah. Gen, Ankrah was made of state after the National Liberation Council overthrew Kwame Nkrumah.

Jackie Ankrah is in herself accomplished at what she does.
