JJ’s mother said Zanetor was another man’s child - Nana Konadu

- Former first relationship, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has shed light on the strained relationship with her mother-in-law

- According to her, Jerry John Rawlings' mother stated that Zanetor was the daughter of another man

- This, her in-law added, was because the baby did not have the usual features most family members possessed

Ghana’s former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has disclosed that her mother-in-law once claimed that her daughter, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, is not hers.

According to her, mother of former president, Jerry John Rawlings, explained that Zanetor’s physical features did not match any of their family members.

For that reason, it was further concluded, Zanetor must be someone else’s daughter.

Nana Konadu went on to say that her relationship with her mother-in-law was not a smooth one.

“My little baby girl arrived on the 1st day of June 1978. After her birth, I was wheeled from the delivery room back to the labour ward in a state of extreme exhaustion.

The nurses put the baby in a nursery so I could rest. Jerry (Flt. Lt. Rawlings) returned at 9 am and it appeared I had not moved since he left,” she recounted.

Jerry Rawlings, on the other hand, expressed excitement at the birth of his daughter, and rushed to the hospital, soon after he was released by the military intelligence.
