Information reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that the managing director of the Precious Mineral Marketing Commission (PMMC), Mr. Opare Hammond, has died.
According to a report sighted on Graphic.com.gh, Mr. Hammond died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Friday, January 11, 2019.
Mr Opare Hammond was a former Member of Parliament for the Adentan constituency before being appointed MD of the mineral trading firm in 2017.
The cause of death of the former parliamentarian is yet to be known.

According to reports sighted by YEN.com.gh, the lawmaker who is the brother of former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko passed on at a hospital in the United States.
In other news, the Ghana police is defending a decision that saw the death of a young man at Teshie, a suburb of Accra.
The man, Divine Akuinor was killed by officers on suspicion that he was a thief who was running away from the scene of his crime.
Authorities claim the young man, Divine Akuinor, snatched a woman’s handbag and attempted to flee.
Myjoyonline.com reported that the Public Relations Officer for the Greater Accra Regional Police, DSP Efia Tenge said in an interview that the police did not mistakenly shoot the late Akuinor as his family claimed.
