The likes of Presbyterian Boys' School-Legon, Mfantsiman Girls, Prempeh College and Wesley Girls Senior High, easily come to mind when you ask for the best secondary school in Ghana.
This is because, historically, these schools have raised and maintained certain educational standard other schools can only dream about.
And if you grew up in Ghana, you would know Senior High Schools (SHS) are a bigger point to brag about than universities. It is our own version of the Ivy League debate.
Rankings have been done based on statistics of the schools' performances in national examinations.
These surveys, courtesy of AB Limited, an information research company, are good way of knowing which schools give your kids the better chance of going into the university.

1. Greater Accra - Presbyterian Boys Senior High School
The school comfortably edges out all contenders in the capital. PRESEC averages a 82.22% pass rate, with St. Mary's, Achimota Secondary School and Accra Academy all lagging behind.
2. Ashanti Region - Opoku Ware Senior High School
They emerge as the best school in the Ashanti Region, beating off competition from neighbours Prempeh College. Opoku Ware average a 92.52% pass rate.
3. Eastern Region - St. Peter's Senior High School
PERSCO, as they are called, make light work of Saint Roses Senior High, Pope John Senior High and Koforidua Secondary Technical to emerge as the best school in the Eastern Region with an average pass rate of 87.45%.
4. Volta Region - Bishop Herman Senior High School
The likes of Mawuli Senior High, Ola Girls and Keta Senior High are all left lagging, with Bishop Herman taking the best position in the Volta region with an average pass rate of 65.02%.
5. Western Region - Archbishop Porter Girls' Senior High School
The all-girl school has dominated the region for sometime now, and their average pass rate of 79.04% kept that status intact.
6. Central Region - Wesley Girls' Senior High School
Wey Gey, as they are affectionately called, have been the best in the Central region for quite a long time now. Their average pass rate of 90% sees them stand out in the Region.
7. Brong-Ahafo Region - James Seminary Senior High School
This school surprisingly emerge the best in Ghana with an average pass rate of 99.22%, making their standing as the best in the region a mere given.
8. Northern Region - Ghana Senior High
GHANASCO in Tamale manage to top in the Northern region after garnering an average pass rate of 68.38%.
9. Upper East Region - Notre Dame Seminary Senior High School
With an average pass rate of 81.29, Notre Dame is ranked the best in the region.
10. Upper West Region - St. Francis Xavier Jnr Seminary
St. Francis Xavier top in the Wpper West region with an impressive pass rate of 94.19, making them the second best in the country.
