Father of varsity student beats up son for scamming him over tuition and textbook fees

- A father has visited the the university campus of his son to beat him up after he swindled him of GHC 11,400 in book fees

- The man was seen in a video lashing his son with a belt as he laid on the ground

A man believed to be the father of a university student has caused a stir after he stormed the son's school to flog him on campus.

The man, YEN.com.gh has gathered, had been made angry after finding out that the son had over-quoted the tuition and other fees which had been demanded by the school.

According to an Instagram user, @jaysmediahouse who shared a video of the hilarious incident on social media, it occurred at the Babcock University in Nigeria on Sunday, March 31, 2019.

Apart from inflating his school fees, the young man who is a first year student had also taken an amount of 800,000 naira (GHC11,400) from his father to buy books but had refused to buy them and had been using the school's textbooks.

"Yesterday (Sunday), Babcock 100 level student who scammed his father of eight hundred thousand Naira(800k) to buy textbooks that he eventually did not buy and sought out some school stuffs was seen being dealt with by his Furious father," the video was captioned.

In the video, the angry father was seen flogging the son with a belt as the young man lied on the floor. After being persuaded by onlookers to stop beating the boy, the man was heard shouting angrily and explaining what his son had done.

The video has gathered a lot of reactions from social media users with many wondering why the young man would do that.

@i_am_enkayy said: "Even me dat v been working for three yers now after school hasn't saved 800k. If you wan scam your papa, scam with sense, haba!

@kingadah_ stated:"First of y'all are getting it all wrong it doesn't necessarily mean he bought just books, maybe that's all he could stutter in the annoyance."

@snow_blakc suggested how the guy used the money: "If the guy had used the money to blow,it would have even been better, I am sure he was spending it on a 400L guys girlfriend..."

But @emeka_uk thought the father was at fault too: "Them suppose flog the pops too oo... Ah ahn... Scamming dey oo.. But 800k for "BOOKS" haba na... Shey the pops no go school."
