NPP is using Bawumia to do their 'dirty job' – Sorogho

- Former NDC MP, Alhaji Sorogho is alleging that the NPP government is using Dr. Bawumia for their 'dirty job'

- He noted that the government has consistently subjected the vice president to public ridicule

Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina, Alhaji Amadu Seidu Bukari Sorogho, believes the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is using Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for their dirty works.

According to him, the vice president has been exposed to public ridicule in his quest to defend the ruling party.

Speaking on Radio XYZ, Alhaji Sorogho said Dr. Bawumia churned out lies and empty talks during Wednesday’s, April 3, 2019 Town Hall meeting.

He said he is sad that the vice president is being used by the NPP for their 'dirty' works, exposing him to mockery.

He is always pushed to do the dirty job of the NPP… People are mocking him on social media… They have tagged him as a king of lies…This is because he is always pushed to tell lies so the NPP looks good,” he said.

He is my Muslim brother. I don’t like what they [some Ghanaians] are doing to him, but do I have an option? His lies have earned him that.

Dr. Bawumia addressed a series of issues on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 including the depreciation of the cedi and other economic matters.

He attributed the cedi’s fall to directives from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), insisting the Bank of Ghana’s hand was tied.

One of the conditions that the Bank of Ghana had to meet was to increase its net international reserves to the level of December 2018. To increase the net international reserves, however, meant that the Bank of Ghana could not sell any foreign exchange in the market.

“They had to essentially hold their hands to the back and could not intervene on the market during this particular period,” Dr. Bawumia said.

Responding to this, Alhaji Sorogho said the vice president spoke like he was in political campaign season to score cheap political points.

According to him, the NPP government has very little to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians since assuming office.

Dumsor [incessant power cuts] has set in and Ghanaians are suffering…Teachers, Nurses are crying for employment. The 1D1F, the 1 Village 1 Dam projects cannot be seen,” he added.
