Dennis Akera, a Ugandan rugby player proved to his wife that he was the perfect match after deciding to wash cars for 12 months just to give her a befitting wedding.

According to mywedding.co.ug, the 29-year-old man started his venture in September 2018.

His biggest worry was sourcing the cash that would give his bae Gloria Anena a ceremony she would never forget.

The lovebirds grew up together in the same neighbourhood 20 years back but later lost contact after life took them to different directions.

Dennis and his 28-year-old bride met again in 2017 during a rugby match.

“When I spotted Denis among the players, I rushed to greet him after the match, we started catching up and the relationship started from there,” Gloria narrated.

Dennis planned his proposal for three months and loved his woman to a fault because she never treated him like he was below average.

Gloria never once complained about how lover’s job description and loved him despite his empty pockets.

“I planned the proposal for three months but I could not muster enough courage to ask her. This time she walked me out of her hostel and I asked if she would be my date. She did not give me an answer there and then which caused me a lot of anxiety,” Dennis said.

Their wedding was low budget but the joy they had in their hearts was immeasurable.

“While we took vows, I shed tears of joy because it was then that I realised he really loved me and he was meant for me. I was unsure of his earlier promises of marrying me,” Dennis added.

Meanwhile, a midwife has received remarkable accolades after she helped deliver a new baby born to a diabetic mother despite having access to inadequate medical equipment.

Emmanuel Addipa-Adapoe, a doctor who shared photos along with a caption on Facebook, disclosed that the mother of the newborn baby ''absconded'' from the Kwahu Atibie Government Hospital (KGH) in the Eastern Region because she couldn't afford to pay her medical bills.

The photos show the woman in a very uncomfortable state after giving birth to her child.
