Simon Sackitey: Overall best student grabs 11 out of 12 awards; reveals strategy

YEN.com.gh has learned that Simon Sackitey has won 11 out of the 12 awards at the 2019 graduation event of the Family Health University College.

His impressive academic efforts were revealed at the programme which saw him crowned as the overall best graduating student.

Sackitey was adjudged as the Best Student in Anatomy, Best Student in Pathology, Best Student in Microbiology, Best Student in Physiology and Best Student in Haematology.

Information available suggests he was also a former president of the school’s medical association.

Sharing his experiences after the ceremony which saw a total of 238 graduates receive honours, he indicated that he adopted strict time management strategies to achieve his dream.

Sackitey added that the passion and zeal urged him on even in times when he wished to compromise.

Per a report by graphic.com.gh, he added that he has always wanted to be a doctor since childhood and the fact that he has achieved his dream excites him so much.

“Many people argue that the basic sciences are only full of extraneous details and complex pathways. I beg to differ. Anatomy taught me that there is structure to everything. Biochemistry taught me that it is the little things that matter. Pathology taught me that anything can go wrong and Pharmacology also taught me that there is always a fix to each problem, if you think hard enough,” he added.

In other news, a movie by award-winning international producer and actress, Esi Yamoah, titled Gold Coast Lounge, is set to bring honours to Ghana.

Yamoah, who once worked in Tyler Perry’s studious, has another movie titled Yaa, which is being screened in film festivals all over the world.

Over the years, Yamoah has carved a niche for herself as a force to reckon with in the movie industry with her input in movies such as Black Rose (2017), The Haves and the Have Nots (2013) and The Front Runner(2018).

She has shared her experiences about working with Tyler Perry, the Year of Return and on several other topical issues.
