Two most-wanted armed robbers finally gunned down at Oyibi

Information reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that police officers have gunned down two suspected robbers in two separate shootout incidents in Accra.

The deceased, Ali Abass ‘Hero’ and Charles Donkor also known as ‘Killer Boss’ were killed around Oyibi in the early hours of Monday, January 20.

According to the police, the two were on the wanted list of the police for their alleged involvement in the Royal Motors robbery, Ashaiman fuel station robberies and a sexual assault.

The Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Fredrick Adu Anim narrated that a police team was dispatched to the area based on police intelligence at around 1:15 am.

The team intercepted a pickup one of the suspects Charles Donkor was driving close to the Oyibi checkpoint where he was signaled to stop but he sped off, which resulted in fire opened on them.

In the firefight, Charles Donkor sustained several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Police Hospital.

Further intelligence led to the hideout of his accomplices at Dodowaa Bawalashie where another firefight occurred.

It was in this shootout Ali Abass was killed but the other suspects escaped.

In other news, flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, on Thursday, January 16, 2020, said he will ensure technical and vocational education in Ghana is free when he is voted into power again.

According to the former president, he will also make sure all the impediments that make technical and vocational education unattractive are cleared.

He stated that he will also ensure technical and vocational education become attractive for students.
