Proud mum who gave birth to 1st son with down syndrome at 45 celebrates him with b'day photos

Popular American singer, songwriter and actress, Stephanie Mills has celebrated her son, Farad Mills with stunning birthday photos after he turned a new age.

For Stephanie Mills, every day is a special moment to celebrate her 19-year-old son with Down Syndrome who turned a new age. Mills gave birth to Farad at the age of 45.

Since then, proud Stephanie Mills' life has never been the same.

Despite the early discouraging words from naysayers and some friends who wondered how she was going to balance her career with raising a child with special needs, Mills has successfully raised her son Farad.

''This is the day that God has made. On this day 19 years ago I was given my Greatest gift of all...my son andwas born, Farad J. Mills. “I never knew Love Like this before”! Many questioned me about having a child at the age of 45. They questioned how I was gonna balance my career, and raising a special needs child (#DownSyndrome),'' Mills recollected in a post on Facebook.

After 19 years, she took to social media to reminisce the birth of her son Farad Mills and the special moments they’ve shared together.

''Having my child saved my life! God doesn’t make mistakes, and he Blessed me a smart, intelligent, funny, charming, charismatic, handsome, and wonderful young man that is so awesome. He lights up a room when he is in it. Yes there are challenges in life when being a parent. This is a challenge that I wouldn’t change for nothing in the world. Today I celebrate my sons born day. However, he doesn’t know how much he has fulfilled my life,'' Mills said.

Mills celebrated her son with a touching message as she noted that ''today, (just like everyday) is about you my son and . Happy Birthday Farad, from your #1 fan in the world. #LoveYourKids make everyday their Birthday! Be the hope they hope for. #GodIsLove.''

In other stories, YEN.com.gh reported that without proper background checks, Ghanaian comic actor Funny Face and Togolese footballing star Emmanuel Adebayor could easily be mistaken as family members considering the bond of friendship between the two.

One could dare say that Funny Face is more of a brother to Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor than the biological brother of the Togolese footballer. At least, when he’s here in Ghana.
