Spiritual extortion which also involves failure to pay tithe is a grave sin that could bring about serious consequences for the persons involved and Pastor Enoch Adeboye has reiterated this biblical obligation.

According to Pastor Enoch Adeboye, overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, paying less than one’s tithe is pure deception.

However, the man of God noted that it is a better choice if the person did not pay it at all.

He said that deceiving God has grave consequences and called for the repentance of people who may be guilty about the issue.

While many continue to debate the connotation and interpretation of Malachi 3:8-9, it says that persons who fail to pay their tithe rob the Kingdom of God of resources.

''Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse - the whole nation of you - because you are robbing me.'' Malachi 3:8, 9.

''Don’t rob God through the payment of tithe and offering, pay everything in full,'' Pastor Adeboye reiterated.

In the Old Testament, Levites received tithe because they dedicated their lives to God’s work and proceeds from the tithe were used to make them comfortable.

All working Israelites paid 10% tithes to the temple which was used to care for the Levites and their families.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye reiterated that people who don’t pay their portion rob the Kingdom of God of the resources needed to undertake salient projects.

His statement has generated tons of reactions on social media.

''God hasn’t forced anyone to pay tithe. He just gave the command. It is up to you to obey Him or not. Tithe is not to make anybody rich, rather it is to show our obedience to God and our stewardship to Him. So it is not a matter of Bill Gate not paying tithe yet rich and those paying who are not rich. It about OBEDIENCE,'' Seth Ahiayibor said in response.

Reign Kwaku Boahen wrote: ''Does God also not rob us after we’ve paid so much and we don’t see the manifestation of his own “Robbing Verse” in our lives? Or when you take the money you don’t tell him we’ve given the tithes to you?

Relax, every Sunday is payday for you, we don’t even have hope for the following day, yet dress neatly and come to church on Sunday. Feel our pains small and stop hitting our heads like as though God doesn’t know we’re hustling.''

Rexford Darko noted: ''Please he's not forcing anyone to pay tithe but he's only urging those who have keep to themselves to pay to be honest.''

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh previously reported that an admirable photo of a boy who has a special skin condition has gained wide traction and generated stunning reactions on social media after the photos were splashed online.

While details of the toddler did not accompany the photo, the boy's enchanting image has erupted powerful conversations about his cuteness.
