The event which forms a major part of the entire VMGA, is meant to bring together all the nominees under one event to perform their songs back to back for the fans on one stage.

This year's Nominees jam which was expected to take place in the Eastern Region has been called off due to the government's ban on public gathering.

In a statement sighted by YEN.com.gh, Robert Klah, Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse said the postponement became necessary due to the recently confirmed Covid- 19 cases in Ghana, and the national directives on public gathering.

“A new date will be announced later, subject to further National Directives on Public Gathering,” he said.

The events company also apologized to all musicians and music lovers in Ghana for "any inconveniences caused."

“Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted. We would like to use this opportunity to remind the general public to follow the preventive measures issued by the Ghana Health Service, and comply with Government’s recent.”

On March 12, 2020, Ghana confirmed two cases of the virus. But on March 15, four other cases were confirmed bringing the number to a total of six cases recorded in Ghana so far.

Following this development, the government imposed a four-week ban on public gatherings including churches, mosques and all entertainment events.
