Lockdown food: Charity foundation shares items door to door to prevent overcrowding
- Ghanaian charity foundation, the Afi Antonio Foundation, has shared food items to many needy people one on one
- This has been in the bid to provide for their needs during the lockdown, whilst keeping the social distancing protocols
- There have been several reports of local residents crowding for food whenever it is being distributed to them in public

The Afi Antonio Foundation, which was founded by Afi Antonio, has distributed many food items to needy Ghanaians who have been affected by the lockdown exercise.
Gari, sugar, milk powder, sardine, milo, biscuits and water were all distributed to people on the street with no homes and also to some residents of the Tema New Town.
"The packages were given to old men/women who can't work, old widowed women, and children. Because of social distancing, we went to their homes to avoid crowding," Afi Antonio notated.

In the video recorded by the team shortly before the exercise started, the leader of the Foundation took the opportunity to thank everyone who contributed in one way or the other.
According to her, quite a good number of people had given out their widow's mite to assist the foundation, including some of her own friends.
Before concluding, Afi Antonio urged everyone who has, to do well and share what they have with people who are needy and are especially affected by the lockdown exercise.

Since Monday, March 30, 2020, several parts of Ghana have been under partial lockdown according to the president's directive to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
On April 5, the president came back to announce some relief items to the needy who have been affected by the lockdown greatly, asking that food be given to them, among other things.
Since then, there have been many reports of needy people defying social distancing protocols to overcrowd whenever food is being shared to them.

This problem is what he Afi Antonio Foundation has found an interesting solution to by distributing the items door to door.
In a different report, a 56-year-old Ghanaian cobbler called Opani Sarfo who could not endure the lockdown exercise because of extreme hunger broke down in tears on camera after receiving a gift of GHC1,000.
The father of five children was blessed with the gift by individuals in Virginia, USA, under the auspices of the Crime Check Foundation under the leadership of Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng.
Opani Sarfo was spotted in his cobbler shop which was in violation of the lockdown exercise put in place by President Nana Akufo-Addo to contain the spread of COVID-19.
