Idris Elba says we should quarantine a week per year to ‘remember’ coronavirus

- Actor Idris Elba has made a call for some of the changes that the world should implement once the COVID-19 pandemic is over

Celebrated Hollywood actor Idris Elba has made a call for some of the changes that should be implemented across the world, once the coronavirus pandemic is over.

According to reports by Metro, the actor who is famous for his roles in Hollywood action-packed movies has recently recovered weeks after he tested positive to the virus along with his wife, Sabrine Ela.

The report noted that now that the celebrity couple has moved past the worst part of the virus, Elba described the ordeal as "definitely scary and unsettling and nervous".

In addition to this, Elba submitted that a week should be dedicated to quarantine in a bid to recognize the global pandemic that claimed many lives.

Metro reports that Idris in a chat with Associated Press said: "You know, everyone’s sort of feeling the way we have been feeling, but it has definitely been sort of just a complete upheaval. ‘I think that the world should take a week of quarantine every year just to remember this time. Remember each other. I really do.”
"I think it’s… other species use it. It’s called hibernation. But it does remind you that the world doesn’t tick on your time," Elba added.

The British actor in a video post earlier disclosed that even though their time in quarantine was over, he and his wife still could not travel home due to worldwide travel restrictions. He went on to say that they would have to stay a little longer but that he thinks the worst is probably over.

The time in quarantine was rather difficult as Elba doesn’t sit still and they both had a bit of cabin fever. Elba expressed gratitude for not falling seriously with the virus and urged all people to stay positive and healthy. With him being asthmatic, Elba said he thought it was going to be a lot worse. He also gave thanks to all those helping others through these difficult times.
