Kumasi-based veteran gospel musician Prophet Seth Frimpong has been reported dead.
According to reports YEN.com.gh sighted on social media, Seth Frimpong died on the morning of Friday, April 24, 2020, after a short illness.
It has not been revealed what the ailment was but the Dancing Prophet, as some chose to call him for his energetic performances, was known to have battled diabetes for a long time.
Prophet Seth Frimpong had been away from the spotlight for a long time because of his disease and only resurfaced in the media in 2018 while remarrying.
In later interviews, Seth Frimpong revealed that he remarried because his first wife had left him because of his predicament.
Prophet Seth Frimpong was one of the most sought-after gospel artistes during prime the prime of his career in the early 2000s.
Known for songs like Nyame Animuonyam, This Is Just The Beginning, Mehuri Sor, Okumchola, and many other hits, he performed at the biggest shows in the country.
He was often seen at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi performing at Kumasi Asante Kotoko matches and his stagecraft earned him the nickname Dancing Prophet.
His song Mehuri Sor (Afe Yi Ye M'afe) was the main song the club used to celebrate its winning of the 2003 Premier League title, the club's first in 10 years.
