A district court in Asokwa has remanded a 27-year-old married woman and her lover for conspiracy to kill the former’s husband.

The incident which happened at Pamen near Kwabeng in the Eastern Region has shocked many Ghanaians on social media.

The duo were remanded after the prosecutor, Chief Superintendent Kofi Blagodz, asked the presiding judge, His worship Korkor Achaw Owusu, to remand them so that they can conduct further investigations.

The first suspect is Mavis Brepor and the second suspect is Patrick Asare who is 50-year-old.

The two will reappear before the court on May 21, 2020.

Mavis and Patrick engaged the services of a contract killer to have her husband, David Gator, 52, killed.

The cheating wife had three children with her husband.

The suspects, in their attempt to contact the contract killer, mistakenly called the Manhyia Divisional Police Commander, ACP Kwaku Buah.

ACP Buah then feigned interest in the contract when Patrick Asare committed to pay GH₵100,000 to have Mr. Gator killed.

ACP Buah said together with undercover investigators and detectives, lured the suspect to come to Kumasi after they posed as contract killers from Sefwi.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Ghana has recorded 921 more COVID-19 cases, shooting the total number of cases to 4,012, according to the Ghana Health Service.

The death toll is still 18.
