Election 2020: Akufo-Addo accepted as flagbearer of NPP

- The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accepted for Akufo-Addo to lead the part into the 2020 Election

- This was disclosed by the General Secretary of the Party, John Boadu

- He said it was only Akufo who had filed for the nomination at the time it was closed

- Boadu said Akufo-Addo will be declared flagbearer by popular acclamation soon

The NPP has settled on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as flagbearer into the 2020 Elections.

This was announced by the General Secretary of the Party, John Boadu, according to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on graphic.com.gh.

Thus, the president is expected to be declared as flagbearer of the party by popular acclamation soon, Boadu disclosed.

He reportedly spoke after a National Council meeting of the party on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.

According to Boadu, the National Vetting Committee of the party reported to the National Council that at the close of nomination, it was only President Akufo-Addo who had filed to contest as the flag bearer of the party.

“The National Council has accepted the report and in due time the President will be declared as the flag bearer by popular acclamation," he explained.

Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has also appointed former president John Mahama as the party’s flagbearer.

As a result, Pastor Owusu Bempah has declared that Mahama will lose the election and be disgraced.

Prophet Nigel Gaisie, on the other hand, has also said Akufo-Addo will receive the shock of his life after Election 2020.
