The State Transport Corporation (STC) has had one of its minibuses burnt by unknown persons at Ho, the Volta Regional Capital.

According to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on the verified Facebook handle of renowned journalist, Israel Laryea, a number of drivers at the station were assaulted.

This follows last Friday’s attack blamed on secessionists calling themselves by different forms of identifications.

On September 25, 2020, the nation woke up to the trending news of several routes to the Volta Region getting blocked by members of the different secessionist groups.

They were believed to have belonged to one of the Western Togoland Group and the Homeland Study Group Foundation organizations.

It appears as though the different groups share the same interest to seek independence of the Volta Region from Ghana as a country on its own.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh reported that the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa, revealed that security officials in the region were in the known of the plot by the Western Togoland secessionist group to cause a ruckus in the region

He stated that based on an intelligence report they received on the group’s plot a day earlier, security officials quickly intervened.

In a news report filed by Citinewsroom, Dr. Letsa said the group had in their plan to target “sensitive state installations” and security operatives prioritised the protection of those installations to prevent worse things from happening in the region.

He, however, commended the security apparatus in the region for doing a great job in helping to avert what might have really gone bad.
