Derrick Lomotey: Ghanaian man completes peace walk from Tamale to Accra in 3 weeks

A 34-year old sportsman and peace advocate, identified as Derrick Lomotey, has completed a peace campaign from Tamale to Accra through Kumasi on foot.
According to a video report sighted by YEN.com.gh on the verified Facebook handle of Citi 97.3 FM, it took Derrick three weeks to complete the entire journey.
It is reported that within the period, Derrick Lomotey made several stops at different communities to educate the public and major stakeholders on how to retain peace before, during and after the 2020 general elections.
Derrick, who indicates that he has completed the journey before in the year 2008, urged the youth to eschew violence and never allow themselves to be used by politicians to foment trouble.
The distance between Accra to Kumasi is 250 km, which is about 16 times the stretch of the Accra-Tema motorway.
Kumasi to Tamale is about 390 km, which in total, brings the distance that was covered by Derrick Lomotey to about 540 km.

In a strikingly similar report, KingKay Africa, a Ghanaian YouTuber has also decided to walk from Accra to Tamale as part of efforts to preach peace ahead of the 2020 December General Elections.
In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Pulse.com.gh, it is indicated that KingKay will embark on the walk beginning on October 30, 2020.
The walk will be in two parts as there will be a stopover at Kumasi briefly before the journey will proceed to Tamale.
