Actress Akuapem Poloo, known in private life as Rosemond Brown, has held a press conference following her release from Nsawam Prison.

At the press conference held in Accra on Saturday, April 24, 2021, Poloo was all emotional as she addressed the media.

After delivering a speech in English, Poloo was asked to summarise in Twi and it was at that point she got overcome by emotions.

Poloo broke down in tears and wept uncontrollably. She had to be ushered out of the press conference for some minutes.

She returned after regaining her composure to complete her address and answer a few questions from the media.

On the subject of the press conference, Poloo expressed gratitude to President Nana Akufo-Addo, Attorney General Godfred Dame, her colleague entertainers, and Ghanaians who have supported her thus far.

She also used the opportunity to admonish the youth against nudity.

Poloo was granted bail in the sum of GHC80,000 by a High Court in Accra but she had been in custody after failing to fulfill the bail requirements.

The actress met the bail conditions and signed the bond on Friday morning and a video showing actress the leaving the court after signing her GHC80,000 bail bond popped up.

In the video, the actress was seen walking briskly toward a white pick-up car in the parking lot of the court.

She had been convicted and sentenced to a 90-day prison term by a Circuit Court in Accra over a nude photo she took with her seven-year-old son, Mohammed Mudasir Yakubu a.k.a. Chief.

The bail forms part of an appeal filed by the actress' lawyer Andrew Vortia to have the sentence reviewed by a High Court.
