On Wednesday, April 14, Poloo was convicted by an Accra Circuit Court after she pleaded guilty to the charges of publishing obscene material with two counts of domestic violence over posting a nude photo of her son in 2020.

She was sentenced to three months in jail for those charges on Friday, April 16.

Before handing the sentence, Christina Cann, the judge of the Accra Circuit Court that handled the case highlighted her worry about the proliferation of nude photos and video on social media.

She expressed hope that the sentence of Poloo will serve as a deterrent to people who engaged in such activities.

The Criminal Division of the Accra High Court is expected to hear the bail application on Wednesday, April 21, the Starr News report sighted by YEN.com.gh said.

Meanwhile, Poloo is currently in the custody of the Osu police awaiting her COVID-19 test results.

Bad case: In an earlier YEN.com.gh report, Vortia said the actress’ case was bad.

As a result, he said Poloo was advised to plead guilty, departing from an earlier not guilty plea.

“When we were at the case management case stage, we evaluated all the evidence against her (pictorial) in the witness statement and we realised that we don’t have a good case,” Vortia told the media.

Reversing a harsh sentence: Vortia filed the notice of appeal to reverse what he described as a “harsh” sentence.
