A 21-year-old man has been burnt to death at Dunkwa Atakyem in the Upper Denkyira East District of the Central Region.

Emmanuel Mensah was reportedly charred to death on Sunday, May 9, 2021, at about 1:30 PM.

The deceased is a stranger who just rented a room to write his remedial in the area.

In a report filed by StarrNews, according to neighbors, Emmanuel was at church when he heard fire had gutted his house.

According to them, he quickly rushed to the house which had already caught fire in an attempt to salvage some of his personal belongings from the inferno.

Kobina Anim, an eyewitness at the scene of the unfortunate accident said he and a host of others heard screams for help in the area so they rushed to the scene only to find out that the boy had been burnt.

Anim is convinced that the fire may be a result of an electrical fault triggered by recent power rationing in the area.

Fire service personnel who were called got to the scene several hours later after the fire had wreaked havoc and caused the death of Emmanuel.

The body of the victim has been deposited at the Dunkwa On-Offin Mortuary.

In other news, there has been a ghastly murder at Dida in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.

According to a report sighted on Classfmonline, a 25-year-old woman was murdered in the district on Friday, May 7, 2021.

The deceased was identified as one Abena Afriyie popularly called “Mother”.
