Police Officer In Tema Hailed For Arresting Hit-And-Run Driver After Hot Chase

A Police Officer with the Motor Traffic and Transport Department in the Tema Region has been praised for his bravery in chasing and arresting a hit-and-run driver.

The incident occurred in Tema Community 1, where a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle, and the suspect driver tried to flee the scene.

The officer’s identity is yet to be disclosed. According to Joy News, the officer reacted quickly after the collision and chased the driver through the busy area.

The officer was also commended for showing concern for the welfare of the injured pedestrian, ensuring they received adequate medical attention.

Policeman who won integrity award

Constable Prince Fordjour, a young Ghanaian police officer and member of the popular Church of Pentecost, was given an integrity reward in 2021 after he returned GH¢2,000 that he had found lying at the ATM.

At a ceremony at the Police Headquarters on July 16, 2021, the police officer was hugely rewarded for his honesty with a total cash prize of GH¢11,000 and other souvenirs.

Lil Win arrested and charged over fatal road crash

YEN.com.gh reported that actor Lil Win has appeared before the Asokore Mampong District Court amid heavy police presence following the road crash he was involved in, which claimed the life of a three-year-old boy.

The actor was granted GH¢50,000 bail alongside two sureties by the Asokore Mampong District Court and will reappear in court on June 27, 2024.
