Asamoah Gyan's Father Clears Air About Son’s Age
George Baffour Gyan, Father of Asamoah Gyan, has rubbished media reports with quotes attributed to him suggesting the Ghana striker is 10 years older than his known age of 30.
The reports first published a satire based website Screwlife.com, claim Mr. Baffour in a recent interview revealed his son who is the captain of the Black Stars has cheated on his age and that he is 10 years older. The said report further noted that Mr. Baffour Gyan had asked Ghanaians not to give heed to the Black Stars Captain, as he had been lying about his age.
The Shanghai SIPG ace threw a lavish party over the weekend to mark his 30th birthday at his reported $3m mansion in Accra. It was at this gathering that Mr. Gyan Baffour is said to have revealed his son is 10 years older than his known age of 30.
The reserved father of four believes the malicious report comes from persons who hate his son and are planning to get at his successful son as he has never made such a revelation.
“Perhaps these reports are motivated by jealousy because I just can’t understand. It is very clear that some people want to use all means necessary to destroy my son but he is blessed and no one can destroy him,” he noted
Mr Gyan senior expressed shock by the reports and questioned how and where he granted the supposed interview saying that Asamoah Gyan is 40.
Mr. Gyan Senior further revealed he has instructed his lawyer to look into the publications and take serious actions against personalities behind the reports he considers as a vicious attempt only to embarrass his son.
A satire website screwlife.com, Wednesday reported that as follows:
Ghanaian professional footballer, Asamoah Gyan, on November 22, 2015, celebrated his 30th birthday in grand style at his $3 million ‘La Basilica de Baby Jet’ mansion.
The festivity, which marked a great day in the life of the Shanghai SIPG’s striker, was well-attended by high profile personalities. During the celebration, the Black Stars’ captain announced his age – claiming he was 30 years old.

However, Mr. Bernard Kwaku Gyan, father of Asamoah Gyan, says his son is throwing pure brown dust into the eyes of the public.
According to him, he was extremely shocked when his son announced he had just turned 30. He therefore advised the public not to pay attention to what his son said because there’s no iota of truth in it.
“Don’t mind him. He’s just saying what he feels. Actually, he turned 30 ten years ago. I know what I’m talking about because I gave birth to him. This is a clear case of the Cedi – Dollar relationship. I have no idea why his ‘football age’ keeps depreciating against his real age like that. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) must set up a commission of inquiry to critically look into this,” Mr Kwaku Gyan said.
According to him, he nearly took the microphone from Asamoah to announce his real age during the event.
“I couldn’t help it when he announced he was 30. I got up on my feet, wanted to walk up to him and tell him to speak the truth and be free. Once again, nobody should mind him,” Mr Gyan added.
