None of us would have thought that former president, Jerry John Rawlings, was an avid supporter of Fidel Castro! These pictures are here to stay.

The Cuban leader passed away over the weekend aged 90. His death has seen various world leaders poor in their tributes.

Fidel Castro was an strong force against Western oppression and neo-colonialism during the 20th century.

His leadership saw Cuba transformed into a strong educational and healthcare haven that outperformed those of the so-called advanced countries and to make Cuba a star in the arts and in sports.

Cuba and Ghana have had umbilical relationships as the hundreds of Ghanaians have been educated in Cuba to become doctors, vets, agriculturists and engineers whilst Ghanaian hospitals, have benefited from the services of Cuban professors and doctors.
